About
Lucy Altameemi
I am a Certified Play and Creative Arts Therapist, with over 20 years’ experience in childcare and education. I worked as a teacher for 13 years, specialising in Special Educational Needs, before training as a Play Therapist. My experience includes working with children with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and childhood trauma, ranging from ages 4 to 17.
I am passionate about the healing power of play, and in shaping the environment to meet individual needs and to aid self-expression. My belief is that child-centred Play Therapy provides a non-judgmental opportunity for children to explore their experiences and express their emotions freely, within a therapeutic framework, leading to healing and greater self-awareness.
As a PTUK registrant, I adhere to the PTUK ethical framework. For more information see this link:
I visit schools and nurseries, and homes where appropriate, in the wider Warrington area, also covering Widnes, St Helens, Leigh, Western Salford and South Wigan
